Primeira série de locomotivas térmicas da CP, aptas a circularem a 140 km/h e que nunca na sua vida
útil ao serviço da CP alcançaram esse desiderato, ficando-se sempre pelos 120 km/h.
A locomotiva 1809 ficou destruída no acidente de Loulé (L Sul) em Junho de 1984.
A locomotiva 1805 está preservada, está em estado de marcha (recentemente totalmente
recuperada em oficina), podendo portanto circular. Pertence ao espólio e à coleção da FMNF-AGM.
